My timetable for Furniture Design is looking far to decievingly easy at this stage.
I have the first 4 hours on a monday in the workshop, this sememster my assesment for this unit is making a drawer 40% and a drawer carcass 40% and a "curved laminated vessel" 20% with process journal to go with them, which is basically my notes and instructions of what I made.
After that I have an hour lecture in design communication, so learning how to illistrate my designs through the use of sketch, watercolour, pencil, computer programs such as (Google) Sketchup and ArchiCAD then I can head back into the workshop and continue whatever I was making.
Tuesday is a lecutre from 10-12 on history and theory in design, followed by a tute, don't know which one im in yet, so either 1,2 or 3.
I'm not in the tute on Wed until the second half of sememster when I get back from Townsville in september, nor am i in the one on Thursday so at this stage I can basically have the time to study or go into the workshop and keep making things.
Friday I have Design Workshop from 9 til 1 but I was also only able to sign up for the Design Communication Tute from 11:30 -1:30 on friday, It was a logistical nightmare to sign up, they had a full lecture thetre stampede to the pieces of paper on the wall to sign up, only letting the people travle by distance sign up, not taking into account the people that had clashes in units.
I have emailed them and hopefully it can change but there can only be 25 ppl in a tute as there are only 25 computers in a lab where the tutes are held. So hoping to just go back to the workshop after the tute and try to catch up.
So at this stage I have 3 half days of uni and 4 full days off, I might try get a job after a few weeks to see how things go.
