Mid Semester Break

Friday 31st August I jumped on a plane (or 3) to Townsville for one of my Best Friend Kathryn's Engagement party! Being the Bridesmaid for the wedding which will be in July next year, I had no hesitation in forking out the cash for the flights. They just didn't get any presents.

Unfortunately I will have to wait until she posts the photos of the event to share them with you. So anyway, I arrived on the Friday night and Saturday was spent trying on bridesmaid dresses to see if the different elements of an online dress we found will suit me. They do! Score! We then went with her parents to Sweeter than Sugar to try their cupcakes. Kat has ordered the cake from them, it is so exciting because the cupcake texture was amazing. I had choc mint, too busy eating to take photos!

We drove to Ayr where the party was being held and relaxed a bit at her FiancĂ©e Kurt's family home where we would be spending the night. The party was great, decorated beautifully by his family and the buffet was amazing! The water festival was on in Ayr so it was a big night in town.

We were in bed by 1 after staying up talking girly things in our PJ's. Sunday I woke up feeling like death. I don't drink so that could only mean I was sick.

I was driven back to Ayr by Kat's friend Laura and spent the afternoon with Emma, it was too windy for the strand so we got changed and went to Cactus Jacks for lunch. After a quick walk around the shops she dropped me off at Natalie's House. When I arrived I found out that Nat was also sick, alot worse than me as she was on TamiFlu. We spent sunday evening and all of monday and tuesday of the couch watching Austar with a box of tissues.

I pulled myself together on Tuesday night, put of a face and got out of my PJ's and went to dinner with my lovely friends that could make it to Cactus Jacks (its addictive). Was really great to see them all as I won't see them until I'm back in July 2013 for the wedding! I grabbed by stuff from Nats and slept at Ainslies that night as she said she would take me to catch my 6am flight. She is a legend. One of my tasks while coming back to Townsville was to take all my lovely books home with me from Kats House. Unfortunately they were a bit over 23 Kilos so it wasa  bit of a struggle but i managed to get most of them home without paying fees.

On Tuesday I called Dani(mezza) and changed my flights around. I realised she was going to be in Melbourne as I was connecting via there to go home to Launceston. I organised to get off in Melbourne and give up my last flight to instead book another flight home on Friday lunch when she flew back to Sydney.

Best idea I have had in a long time, we both couldn't remember the last time we had been alone together. We got to stay in the hotel together thanks to TS14+ who put us up as she was there to work for them to cover their Melbourne Spring Fashion Week  free Twilight Runway Show.

Between going to the office and picking out clothes I got a bit of time to look around the city and it is amazing. I still prefer Launnie though. We went to the office of 17 Sundays and had an amazing night with dinner and dress ups. More on that one later... once my clothes arrive :)

While at the rehersal for the Runway show, Danielle's neice Melissa showed up out of the blue, facebook had been telling me she was close then *poof* there she was. She is now 19 and I hadn't seen her since Dani and Steve (her uncle) got married, so she was only 13. We sat together and watched the show as Dani did her thing.

The models looks great and the styles were put together so well. We also ran into Jeanie from Inspired Wish and Omega from Fashion Adjacent who stopped by to say hello and watch the show. It was really good to put a person to the avatar! Unfortunately I didn't take any photos but I'm sure Dani will have heaps up later.

After the show Danielle, Melissa and I went back to the room after dropping into the TS14+ Australia on Collins store. After editing a fair few photos we headed out to find food and dropped Melissa back at the train station.

I was such an unexpected trip and all my delays ( I think about 4 out of 6 flights) didn't even bother me as I got to spend time with my sister. Oh and I am so getting one of those Remington Curlers when I save up some money as my god they are easy to use!!!

A big, huge, gigantic thank you to 17 Sundays for decking me out for the trip to Melbourne, I think I have no reason not to participate in Aussie Curves every week now! The fabrics! Oh My!
